From June to September, busy Florida sites move from weekly service to every 2 to 3 days. One unit on 20 workers at weekly service is full by Thursday in July, and an unsanitary unit does not count toward the OSHA minimum (interpretation letter, May 17 2006).
ANSI Z4.3 plans 1 unit per 10 workers at weekly service. Heat doubles use. Either add units or add visits: an extra visit is $30 to $60; a second unit is $138 to $210 per 28 days. For 20 workers, two units plus a midweek visit is the usual answer.
1926.51(f) requires washing facilities with soap and towels. In summer the handwash tank empties faster than the toilet; put it on the same service schedule.
No rule sets a frequency. OSHA requires units be kept sanitary; the frequency follows from use and heat.
$30 to $60 in Florida, vendor-published 2026.
